About The Author

Ta’Knisha “MsNee” Houston, a recent graduate of Grambling State University, developed an interest in writing in the ninth grade. She gives an enormous thanks to her substitute teacher, Ms. Dean, who decided to water-a-seed that "MsNee" never knew was planted. Ms. Dean turned her science class into a journalism class. The very first assignment was to write a poem to any song that the students chose, which soon ignited the blaze that continues to burn with alphabetical fluids.

MsNee started sharing her poetry, which were more like thoughts that formed stories, with the people around her that she felt would appreciate what her mind had formed from observing the world and people in story form.

She needed to share these thoughts with people that could relate to them. This would allow others a glimpse into her world, where no one could take away the ink that she splattered. She decided that she would be the voice of people that could not put into words what they had been through, be that artist that painted pictures of the lives of actions forgotten, and be that light that shined to let another know that they are not alone in any situation. She realizes that there is always someone who’s been through, about to, or in the midst of any situation that another has been faced with.

She is looking forward to sharing her experiences and the experiences of others with you in her 1st poetry book “Granted Facts & Unknown Thoughts.” She encourages all to “enter with an open mind so that you won’t miss any messages that are meant to position you in another’s situation, in order to understand life from alternative views”.
